I have had the new Charge 5 for 2 days. The battery discharges within a day. GPS is off, the phone is not set to always on. In looking over the troubleshooting instructions from Fitbit, it seems that you essentially have to disable all of the features that were selling points of this device in order to get decent battery life. Even my ancient Charge 3 got 6 days on one charge! Has anyone with this battery problem found a solution other than disabling everything?

I'm having the same issue. I've uninstalled the o2 app. GPS is off. Display is not always on. I just restarted it so I guess I will know if that worked tomorrow.

But it doesnt make sense to uninstall all the features to test if its working. You didnt buy the charge 5 for this reason.

@LiJaHiThere are some useful tips in that article. However, for the Charge 5 Rapid Battery Drain issue, which is the Topic that these Posts are regarding, many of the things that the article says to turn off are main features of the Charge 5. These features are why myself, and many others who have posted to this Topic, bought the Charge 5 in the first place.
This article may be helpful to those who are not having this battery issue, but it does not provide a solution to the issue. Even when I do everything suggested in the article and am not exercising or am not wearing the tracker, I still only get about 3-4 hours from a 100% battery charge.
Thanks for trying to help us. Fitbit needs to provide a solution and provide it soon.

@YojanaFitbit this topic has NOT been answered. This is far from an Answer. Please provide an Answer.

@LiJaHiyes, I see that now. Thank you for helping out. Sorry if my wording sounded angry at you. I am not.
I am angry at Fitbit about this issue/topic and getting more so every day. Thanks again.

Another update - got to ship my unit back today and will now await for the replacement. Lets see how this one goes once I get it.

Yeah. This did virtually nothing for me. It still won't last even 48 hours. My device is still defective. The troubleshooting does nothing. The support staff messages are patronizing. This support was bogus. And I still have a near worthless piece of plastic.

It seems to have caused me an issue with the battery. It was fine, and now it won't hold a charge from the moment it's taken off the charger.

Hello,
I want to be a bit positive.
Seems firmware fixed the issue with the battery for me. It started to work perfectly and better (in terms of battery) than my old Versa 2.
However, I still filed to return Charge 5 (45 day money back) due to other reasons:
1. Too small display (I think I like watches)
2. lack of physical buttons. ( Rumors say the new Versa 4 will have a button back)
Battery is concerning only due to comments here but not main issue for me.
Fitbit, hope we will not have issues with 45 days return :-))) and I will stay a happy customer with my old Versa 2 waiting for new Versa 4 🙂 (or even Sense 2 or which name will you give for new devices?)

I've been positive. I've been trying to work with them. I've been patient. But at this point my device is completely worthless. This update made it worse not better, the excuses they've given me as for why it's happened are because of features I've never used and the now the features I've been using since I purchased it six months ago are now so draining that my battery died within hours, due to zero fault of my own. So, I cannot use it for any of the reasons I bought it, recommended by my doctor to monitor all the weird things my heart started doing. I can't even use it for step reminders because if I take it out of sleep mode it dies even faster. Throw in that it's their fault the devices are doing this, but treating us like we should be grateful that "they're aware and working on it" and "value our imput", makes it even worse. I wish you luck on return. It's better than any of the rest of us have gotten.

Any news when it’ll be available in the U.K? I really need my watch working!

This is all very concerning. I got my Charge 5 yesterday and have had to charge it three times now (once to top it off after unboxing and twice because the battery had drained completely. The only preferences I’ve applied were to turn off notifications and to set the screen brightness to the dimmest setting, both of which I would assume should increase the battery life rather than decrease it. The firmware is up to date, and so is the app on my iPhone 13. If the Charge hadn’t been advertised as holding a charge for about a week, I would’ve even been happy to only have to charge it once a day, but less than a full day out of the box makes it borderline useless as an activity tracker.

Same! My charge 2 stopped working and thought it was time for an upgrade so got a charge 5 delivered yesterday - Charged to 100% at 4pm and the battery was fully drained by 1:15am so not even half a day of use. I've charged it again now to see how long it lasts this time but less than half a day makes it pretty useless. Hoping there's an actual fix coming as I like the device but it's pointless to keep if it doesn't work.

I got the update for the firmware. It made mine even worse. Literally 2 charge percentages were dropping every minute. I went from maybe 24 hrs to less than three once I updated it. I cannot believe that they are still selling them knowing this is happening.
