Charge 5 battery is dead and refuses to charge

Hi,

A few days ago the battery of my charge 5 suddenly dropped rapidly. I charged it to 100% a few times and it drained to 0% within hours (it used to last almost a week on 1 charge).

I tried resetting the charge 5 but that didn't work. It also has the latest firmware.

I tried another charger, and another power lid. I also tried to press the button on the charger and made it connect to the charger a few times within 8 seconds.

Nothing works, the battery seems dead now and there is no life in it.
This device is 1.5 years old and was a replacement from a earlier Charge 5 that also suddenly had a dead battery.

What can I do now?

Can I get a refund or a free replacement?
Surely the Charge 5 should last more than 18 months, right?

Thanks.

Mine had also just died and tried the same as you after reading the tip but no luck ! Got sales receipt from son and typically just over the year so no guarantee left !

Looks like Google is doing this to us on purpose. My Charge 5 was doing good until about two weeks ago…. All of a sudden it is not holding a charge. Not tracking steps properly…

bad firmware update. Or just kicking us to the curb. Not sure what the problem is….

My charge 5 stopped in August then my partners stopped yesterday. I am not impressed by the short life expectancy. Not really fit for today's age with built in obsolescence, very climate friendly, not!
