My watch battery lasted a week until Saturday when it suddenly started draining very rapidly. I have tried resetting, switched off some features but nothing works. Looks like this is an ongoing problem.
is there a solution or is the Fitbit good for the bin and I need to switch brands? The watch is useless now

Hello @KJJ5
When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery drain, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I noticed the battery% had a big drop, I restarted my device then put it on the charger, often doing this multiple times in a day. This process eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery life went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work, it might be worth a try.

I had this issue and today it seems to have resolved. I did 3 things, not sure which was the charm.
Firstly, after multiple tries to recharge it, I left it alone for a week. Today I charged it up so I could contact the help desk and as usual it started draining battery quickly, going down 3% in 5 minutes. Some people think that just leaving it alone does solve the issue but because it initially started draining quickly again, I'm not sure this is it.
Secondly, for a few weeks before it crashed, it kept asking me to add Google Wallet. I wondered if there was a routine of some sort that was being set off by that prompt that was running on repeat for some reason, so I set up the wallet.
Finally I went into settings and cleared all the data.
It's fine now, not sure why though!

Exact same thing has happened to me on the exact same day. Very odd.
I've used it all week without issues and woke up Saturday with a low battery warning. Since then, it only lasts 2 hours on a charge after being completely normal prior to that.
Have tried restarting the device, removing the device and factory re-setting, etc. and nothing is addressing it.

OP, does your heart rate sensor still work? Mine has stopped working at the same time as the battery drain.

I tried this and it did not work. I have binned the watch!

I never used the heart sensor. I just counted steps

I gave up trying to fix it as nothing seemed to work. I think Fitbit have a problem they are ignoring! I ended up replacing the watch

I tried every solution the live chat support suggested, but nothing seems to fix it. The fitbit charge 5's battery still dies out very quickly, ranging from a few hours to two days.
