Charge 5 battery is draining quickly

My fitbit charge 5 has suddenly started draining battery within a few hours of charge. It used to last for a few days to almost a week, now it always dies in the middle of my workout.
I have checked the GPS activity, made sure the charging points are clean and any updates are up to date but nothing seems to be working. I lose charge from 100% to 6% in a matter of a few hours, even when I am barely doing any physical movement to exhaust the battery. The battery does not even sustain an entire hour while working out!

I'm unable to contact customer support as well - it always shows a message 'Please try again during support hours' for both 'call me' and 'chat with us options'. I'm in the APAC region & there is no number for APAC to reach out to Fitbit support via the 'call us' option.

Can someone please help??

Hello @Psya2001

When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.

This sounds like the issue that we had back at the beginning of October.

Mine is finally syncing now. I deleted and reinstalled the app. That didn't work so I restarted the Charge 5. It went blank! I then placed it on the charger and quickly tapped it three times with the charger. It is back on but the battery went from 89% to 23%.

It seems like many people are posting about this issue. Perhaps Fitbit could look into the issue and let all these posters know that they are not alone. What is Fitbit doing about this issue this time?

Thank you

Same issue here and it started at the same time as your problem.

Mine is working again but a lost most of yesterday’s data.

There are several posts with similar issues. Don’t respond to more than one post. Fitbit/Google monitors this forum for multiple posts.

Fitbit/Google should let users know when there is an issue.
