Hi,
I've recently purchased a Charge 5 for hiking. after having the 1st one replaced due to the poor battery life I
find the seconds is identical. Even with the gps set to the dynamic setting the battery runs out from a full
charge after about 4 hours which to me means the watch is not fit for purpose. One the original watch I was
advised to turn off the SP02 which didn't make much difference to be honest but I cant see that function on
this watch or any help and support link.
Any ideas to improve battery life and where the missing functions are would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there, @Ginger2320657. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your new Charge 5 is also having battery issues. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As you were told with your first Charge 5, there are a few features that would make the battery drain faster than usual, even in one day. Some of these features are:
If this doesn't apply to you, another step that has been helpful for other users having battery draining problems is the three pulse restart procedure using the charging cable. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device? also, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article.
We recommend that you use the charging cable that came with your device. Note that after several hundred charge cycles, your device may need to be charged more often.
Regarding your inquiry with the SpO2, to remove SpO2 tracking from your device, you must remove both the SpO2 clock face and the SpO2 app. One or both might be installed depending on your Fitbit device.
To remove SpO2 tracking, change your clock face to one not listed in the SpO2 clock face category:
Uninstall the SpO2 app:

Hi Marre thanks for the tips. I found using my phone as the gps like i did on charge 3 used only 1% battery.
Regarding the SP02 when i go into the gallery to uninstall i found it was not on the list. Do you know why this would be?
Regards
Ginger

SpO2 tracking isn't available in all countries. I can't find the list of countries where it's an option.
Also, SpO2 tracking ONLY occurs during sleep, so having it active won't matter for your daytime battery life. Draining in 4 hours is excessive, even if you have all of the most battery intensive features active. Contact customer support. They will walk you though trouble shooting and imply that it's just user error, but eventually, you should be offered a warranty replacement (assuming you purchased a new unit from an authorized dealer*).
*Be aware that even though Amazon is an authorized dealer, if your unit was purchased via a 3rd party seller on the Amazon website, it won't be covered. Fitbit doesn't care that Amazon doesn't make it clear who the seller is.
