I've had my charge 5 for 11 months and a couple of days ago my charge 5 can no longer hold any charge.
It seems to be charging when plugged into the charger cable. But as soon as you take it off it turns off and the battery is at zero

Hello, @Heinzy and welcome to the Community.
Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to your Charge 5 not charging.
Please, let me know and try the following:
- Are the green LED lights in the back of the Charge 5 on?
- Does it vibrate when you plug it into the charger?
- I recommend you to follow the steps here.
Once you've followed these steps, let me know how it goes.

I've tried all of those steps.
The device does Rumble and show the Fitbit logo as soon as you plug it in to the charger. If you leave it charging it even appears to be charging the battery (battery percent goes up - I even got it up to 90 percent doing this yesterday).
As soon as you unplug the charger the device turns off. Plug the charger in again and it turns on with 0 percent battery again.
I've tried resetting the device multiple times using the button on the charger. But it didn't make any difference...

My Fitbit Charge 5 is also experiencing the same issue. To say I am disappointed in the FitBit brand is an understatement! This is my third fitbit, the previous two died in similar ways, unfortunately this fitbit did not live as long as the first two. Tell me, is there an intentional programmed software bug in these devices designed to make them fail so we continue to upgrade? I am over this brand and if my fitbit cannot be fixed I will NOT ever buy a fitbit device again.

Cris, are you a BOT or are you a real person working through this issue? Your recommendations are not useful and they do not work.

Exactly the same issue here. Have been using charge 5 for almost 2 years, never got wet and until about 3 weeks ago the battery would last 5-6 days. Suddenly battery won’t charge properly, would jump from 80% to 30% and 50% while charging. While using it in just a couple of hours its drains even if it was at 100%. Have done everything suggested in other replies, just sitting here reading everything battery dropped more than 20% in about 15 minutes. I hope they fix this.

Ever since Google bought FitBit, our Charge 5s have had continuous issues. Chances are Google inherited you as a customer, so you're not an income source and they couldn't care less what your experience is.

I am frustrated, it is odd for a well-cared for item to work fine one day and then be garbage the next day. My fitbit will show 99% charged and within a minute drop to 1%, all the while screen display is black. I vote with my dollars so fitbit will lose me and google products will lose me too.

Have you tried restarting it? If it’s responsive pull the clock face display downward till you get to settings. Click settings and scroll upward to restart and select it. If the Charge 5 is unresponsive plug in the charger that came with it and then connect your Fitbit to it. The charging cord has a little button on the usb part. You need to press it for about 1 second long- 3 times in 8 seconds. After about 10 seconds you should see the Fitbit logo and it will restart. Let it charge for a while and then check on it. This fixed my Charge 5 charging issues and my friends as well.
Good luck!

Yep tried all that. No luck. Still doesn't charge no matter which way I reset it...
