Charge 5 battery only lasts for an hour

I went swimming with my Charge 5 and the screen display went away for a day. It came back but now with a full charge the battery only lasts for an hour

I appreciate your input of this situation after swimming with your Charge 5, let me help you with it. 
 
It's good to know that your display is working properly now. Regarding the issue with the battery, I suggest that you follow our recommendations on how to extend your battery life. Keep in mind there are a few features that make the battery drain faster than usual. 
 

In addition, try to perform a restart following the steps listed here below, this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar: 

 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
