Charge 5 battery resets to 1% after removing it from the charger cable

Hi, I’ve just started experiencing the following problem. I fully charged it, and then about an hour later I noticed it was flat. I charged it back to 100% but as soon as I remove it from the charger it switches off. When I put it back on charger, it powers up and starts again at 1%. I’ve tried doing the x3 button resets within 8 seconds on the cable but it goes back to 1% each time. It is currently unusable.

Do you by any chance have the firmware 194.91? In any case, try contacting the support, maybe the battery is faulty.

It does have the 194.91 update. It was working fine before, with a charge lasting about 6 or 7 days, so it seems a bit weird that it is suddenly not holding any charge at all. My Inspire 2 which is much older is still holding its charge.

In case you haven't read the forum, 194.91 update causes battery drain problem to lots of C5 devices, mine included. Your best bet for now is contacting support; if yours is still under warranty, they will replace it for free, if not, they'll offer 50% discount to a newer device (C6 if I'm not mistaken).

Thanks. I hadn’t read it. In my view, if it’s their update that has caused my device to fail they need to fix it or replace it free of charge. I’ll make a complaint and see what happens - I’ve had it now for nearly 2 years so I guess it’ll be out of warranty. I’ll cancel my subscription and delete my account if I find their service unsatisfactory.

**UPDATE**
I contacted support via Facebook as I couldn’t find any other way, and they have said I can get a replacement free even though I am out of warranty (due to something I qualified for - a one time offer).

let’s hope that get a fix for the remaining charge 5s out asap

Wow - been trying to get hold of customer support and it seems that living in the UK means I can’t actually get hold of a real person. Super disappointed and frustrated. I’ve no choice but to cancel my subscription and delete the app. I won’t be touching Fitbit or a Google product after this fiasco.
