My Fitbit Charge 5 used to hold a battery charge for up to 5 days. Within the last week it began requiring daily charging and quickly loses its battery level.
Also, the Charge 5 battery level is inconsistently displayed. Tonight while the Charge 5 was on my wrist it displayed a battery level of 62 percent. I took it off and attached it to the charging cord and the battery level displayed 87 percent.
I have reset the Charge 5 per instructions online, but this has had no impact in modifying the battery life drain. I also tried the reset by pressing the button on the charging cord, but this did not rectify the problem either.
It’s unfathomable that a rechargeable battery hasn’t lasted 3 years when it hasn’t needed to be charged every day during that time frame.
I’ve watched YouTube videos showing how to replace the battery, but I don’t have the patience or dexterity to even attempt that at this time.
Any suggestions how to get my Charge 5 to hold a charge again before I discard it?

Hello @jjfeigal
When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.
If that doesn't work, there's an unorthodox method that a user tried and was able to restore their device by exposing it to freezer temps. This thread (<-- click) describes what they did. This method has worked for some, but not all users. Still, it could be worth a try.

Same problem; can’t go 12 hours until it requires recharging
Can’t take an hour bike ride without it going dark and not recording any data; no GPS maps anymore
What is causing the problem ? Has my Charge5 reached the end of its useful life ?
Is the Charge 6 better ????
