Charge 5 had blank face but could feel vibrations & it was updating on app. I tried to reset by putting it on the charger.. I initially got the logo & vibration but nothing else. I tried pressing the charger button 3 times to reset it. Now everything is dead. I get no power or vibration whatsoever & app can no longer find the watch. It was at least able to update before I tried the reset. Almost as if the reset fried the watch. Any thoughts or recommendations? It seems these always fail around the 1 year mark. So irritating .

Unfortunately, the only people seeing these posts are other Fitbit users that have had problems with their device and are unlikely to be repeat customers. If these posts were made public where new and potential customers could see them, it might get Fitbit's attention.

Update!
it’s totally dead, decided to have a funeral for the Charge 5 and dug out the old Charge 4, the 4 was always my favorite one anyways, for unknown reasons, maybe because I wore it while I trained for and ran my first full marathon?!? I don’t either way, I’m giving up and I don’t know where I’m going after this but I’ll wear it until it dies!

As someone who has experienced this issue in the past with two Charge 5 FitBits, I can tell you that resetting the device does not fix the problem. I had to fight to get the first one covered under warranty because I was told (incorrectly) that I had already "used my warranty to replace my device." After a week of calling, I finally got someone to listen to me and a month later got a replacement that also would not hold a charge for 24 hours. Fortunately, it didn't take over a month to get a replacement for my replacement.

I'm actually disgusted with Fitbit. My Fitbit went blank and would not charge. It just pulsed and vibrated. It was 13 months old!!! The support team was useless, they said because I didn't buy it at the Fitbit store they can't do anything. I will definitely not be buying another Fitbit. They need to stand with their customers!!! This was my second Fitbit but now I'll go to Apple. Definitely not good customer support from them!!!!

Totally agree that others may not see these posts. Fortunately I originally bought mine on Amazon and I just left a quick 2 star review. Hopefully it will help someone else make an informed choice.

Seems like a lot of us are having this problem in the last couple of days. For me, the changing of the clock face will only resolve the issue for about an hour or two before the problem returns.

Seriously - all these steps have been done without any success. When I bought this Fitbit Charge 5 I expected it to last way longer than 14 months. I cannot believe that with this issue affecting so many that have the Charge 5 that Fitbit has not come out with some sort of a fix instead of a ridiculous 35% off of a new purchase. Really!!!!!!

If it it still in warranty send it back or take it back to the store you bought it from. I’ve had the same issue. Clearly there is a fundamental issue with the Charge 5. I’m on my 3rd device in 4 months. If you can get a refund change to a device that works such as Garmin or Apple Watch. I’m stuck with Fitbit before you ask

Agreed. The GPS functionality no longer works on mine and Live Chat keep telling me to plug it into the charger and press the button on th USB cable 3 times. Does absolutely nothing
