My fitbit last synced 20hrs ago. I noticed the screen was blank and the green light was permanently on. I did the reboot with the 3 presses on the charger button and now I have blank screen with permanent red light. This was a replacement for my previously faulty charge 5 but that was only in January this year. No amount of reboots make any difference. Please advise.

Hi there, @Duncan58. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.
If the above doesn't work, may I know if you're getting the Fitbit logo whenever you connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable? If so, please try the steps below in the order listed:

I have done as you suggested and now the situation is as follows. There is no logo appearing when I connect the charger although it does vibrate. The red light has gone off and now there are no lights on the back. My phone cannot find the device when trying to connect to it. Thanks

@Duncan58 Thanks for getting back to me and for the update.
It sounds to me that the battery is completely flat. With that being said, please note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working. Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.
When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5 once again, I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.
If the above doesn't work, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
@AnaB13 Welcome on board! Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Fitbit device.
To better assist you, would you mind letting me know if you've done any troubleshooting steps so far? Have you tried the steps I recommended in this thread?

Left on charge all night. Now it doesn't even vibrate when I connect the charger. Now trying a different charger. Is there any truth that this has all been caused by an app update and that's why so many people are now having this issue?

My charge 5 of 9 months has done the exact same thing you described. The fitbit charge 5's are pure junk it seems. No one on this website will give any actual answers besides telling you to restart it.

Check the firmware version through the app. If it ends with 194.41 you are in bad luck and you have a device that will not work. You need to contact your local shop/cs and ask for a new one and hope the DW version is lower than 194.41.

Thanks, but Fitbit asked me to unpair my watch and remove it from the app and now it can't be added back onto the app so I've no idea what firmware version the device has.

Ive done all the troubleshooting steps and now my device won't charge at all and I have verified that the charger cable is working on another device. I've had no option but to purchase a replacement, as I can't be without my device for this length of time due to a health issue that requires constant monitoring.

My charge 5 last synced 4 days ago, on 28 June 2024. It stopped working abruptly and the screen went blank on 29 June 2024 evening. I remember seeing 38% charge level the last around midday. Yet I thought it might be out of charge. Tried charging. No luck. Just the fit bit logo and red light on the back.
Read this forum and tried restarting it several times. I only get the the fitbit logo once. Then nothing.
Tried changing screen from the app. First, it gave me error "unable to connect to device" while it was on charge and flashing logo twice in a couple of seconds. And then this error on app. Tried it multiple times. Now no response on the Charge 5 whatsoever while trying to change screen.
Tried the unpairing. Force stop app. Switched off phone and restarted. Tried pairing again. Now it won't pair back. Phone's Bluetooth says no new devices found.
It only shows a red light constant light while on charge. Dead blank screen. Help me out here!

Mine said firmware version 57.20001.188.58
Still the issue persists. I am not sure this is the only thing.

I tried all these as well. I kept it on charge for more than 2 hours multiple times in last 4 days. Still nothing.
I even observed there was an app update. Did that and tried doing everything again from yesterday after the app update.
Trid charging it from different power adapters (Samsung and local) and also tried direct USB outlet of my laptop and the outlet on extension cord as well. It still only flashes the logo once and a constant red light on the back when connected to charger. Everything blank when unplugged.

I have the exact same problem tried all the things Fitbit said to do. Fitbit was fine and then it wasn’t it had 36% on it and red light on the back. Did the reboot it acted like it was updating and it just stopped at the end and shut back off.
