Charge 5 blank screen and won't respond

My Fitbit suddenly stopped working yesterday while I was at work. I knew there was definitely still battery life as I charged it yesterday morning. I’ve replugged it overnight on the charger and tried to reset it but nothing. 
I only got the charge 5 last year so it definitely is at its 2 year lifespan yet. Not sure what to do to revive it.

Hi there, @Waan11. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not turning on. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Did your Charge 5 vibrate when you try the restart? To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

It vibrated and I got the Fitbit logo and then momentarily flashed yesterdays date and time for 1 second but went back to the black screen. I’ve repeated this many times but it keeps going back to the black screen and not being responsive.

@Waan11 I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists. Since you tried the steps I recommended here and they didnt work, you have a Charge 5 and report experiencing a blank screen, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I have exactly the same issue as the other user & have tried the same steps as them, with the same results.

my screen is completely blank & the Fitbit is just vibrating on the charger,

I'm having the same problem. My charge 5 screen went black. I tried everything. Fitbit only gave me a 35% off coupon but I need this one to work now. I'm very upset and lost without it right now. Please help

Hi, the same thing has happened to me, charge 5 is 18 months old and suddenly I got a black screen. It tracks everything, steps, heart rate, exercise but screen is blank. Have tried everything the forum chats suggest but no help. Is this an update issue?

I am having the same issue but have not got the logo to show after the reset.  Changing the clock face did not work as well.  Can you suggest something else?

Same happened to me just a couple of days ago. My Fitbit 5 suddenly stopped working. I tried everything to get it back (reset many times), but the clockface is blank.

I called customer service and they ended up giving me a 35% discount code because I've had the watch for 2 years and the warranty has expired. This is a disappointment as I'm on my second Fitbit (I had a Charge 4 before).

I'm contemplating getting another, but I'm still on the fence because these watches don't appear to have longevity.

Same thing here. It died at 340pm on 10 July. Shows logo for a few seconds and then goes black. Only 14 months old. Tried same fixes as everyone else and nothing works. Extremely upset with product and will not recommend to anyone.

I'm reluctant to get another Fitbit due to short life. Have seen on a previous post on the forum (same problem) that the Xiaomi smart bands are worth looking at, depends what you want from the watch. They are much less expensive so even if only last 12 months are better value than Fitbit. I'm so disappointed Fitbit are just abandoning us and want us to spend more money to upgrade but how long will the charge 6 last before the same thing happens?

This happened to my charge 5 at 14 months old AND to my charge 6 at 3 months old. I'm so over fitbit.

mine also stopped working right around the same date. It seems like a lot of people are having the same issue. Please let me know how I can get it fixed or get a refund. Mine was purchased 12/2022. So it’s less than 2 years old.

I have had the same problem since Tuesday.  Yesterday I had a red circle with a white cross.  I let it go flat, and now it is charging, very slowly.  I’ll see if it will reset after that. I have contacted Fitbit and am waiting for a response.  Very poor customer service so far.
