My Fitbit Charge 5 keeps shutting down — the screen goes black and it won’t sync. This has been going on for about six months now, and the watch is fully updated…
Has anyone else experienced the same issue? I’m considering switching to another brand — what are your experiences?

Hi there, @Cvjc. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 5 is not working properly. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:
If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Best AnswerThis is happening to mine. It’s charged and it randomly just goes to a black screen and won’t ’wake up.’ I’ve tried restarting, changing clock face, cleaning usb / watch for dust particles. Extremely frustrating as I rely on the watch for both time and fitness.
I've had this happen to me once before. Never got it solved, but is there a chance you were in water? Even if it's just a short shower or bath, I think hot water can break down the water seal and it could have had water damage inside the Charge 5. I've had this happen to my watch (I was in cold faucet water, so I'm not too sure why it's doing this on my part), but it's still reactive to the charger and all. If you don't mind me asking, is your watch vibrating if you put in on the cord? Let me know and maybe we can resolve this together?
Best AnswerThank you for your reply- I still haven’t solved the problem- I think I’ll buy a Garmin watch instead 🤔
Best AnswerThank you for your reply - no water involved.
yes it is vibrating.
Yesterday it shut down and the screen went black during my workout. It happened suddenly. I restarted it when I got home, and now during the night it has shut down again.
