Charge 5 blank screen

Hey folks, I have the black screen of death on my Charge 5 (Yes, I have done the charger plug in, hold button three times, one second in between countless times) to no avail. 

It is still recording data, I can still sync it, I can't see the "watch face."  I have done countless google searches, all give the above suggestion, but that's not working. Anyone have any other ideas for me? 

I tried connecting in FB, 24*7 CC but no response. I am sic and tired,

I'm experiencing something similar. My Charge 5 has been sketchy for the past few days. I was initially successful at resetting and logging some steps though they didn't register on the bracelet screen. Now only the Logo flashes. Bought the bracelet in January 2022.

@Optimism Thanks for stopping by and for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5. I will do my best to help you with this! 

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image. 
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

I'm having issues with my Charge 5, too. Couldn't sync yesterday then I got the X with the red circle. Tried to reboot and got the fitbit logo that wouldn't go away. Left it plugged in over night and now I have the X red circle again. I've had it for a year now. I'm so frustrated! I'll have to call fitbit tonight.

@AWCurl Welcome on board. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before posting here. I understand how you must be feeling. We're here to help you! 

There are some general recommendations that are usually helpful with any type of display issues. If you haven't done so already, please try the steps listed here below that have been useful for other users:  

  1. Complete the 3 pulse restart procedure method using the charging cable.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, please try tapping on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears (since a new firmware version has been released for the Charge 5).
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

I, and numerous others seem to have the same problem!  I’ve followed every instruction given by users and FB help but nothing works.   My Charge 5 was working ie syncing so that I could read my stats despite the black screen, unfortunately that has now stopped working properly, the charge doesn’t last very long and I get no sleep readings at all.  Watch was perfectly fine until latest FB/Google update.  I’m so fed up with it all now, my warranty is out by a couple of months.   I have emailed Fitbit.com and they have offered me a reduced price on several new ones but when I tried purchasing it would not accept a UK address and only ships within US.  Still trying to sort that one out with them.  If it’s not resolved shortly I’m outa here as far as FB/Google is concerned.  Apple too expensive but will see what Amazon has got on offer.  🤯😤🥶

HELLO Marre,  I also have followed the advice you gave to JeetuSardana to no avail!  Still screen blackout.  My charge 5 is sporadically syncing but the battery diminishes quickly and the step counts are totally out - apparently I have done 7 so far today and it is 6.58pm!   It seems that since the most recent update many users are experiencing the same problem.  I think it is about time we had an explanation otherwise I feel Fitbit/google are going to lose a lot of customers!

I totally agree! This charge 5 is my 2nd one! The other one just died. They
gave me a discount and I stupidly ordered another charge 5!! My fault!! I
am debating on just seeing what Amazon has, too! I've actually looked at a
few. So very frustrating!

I have the same problem today with a blank screen. On the app it shows that it is 58% charged. I attach the charger to it and it still shows a blank screen. I have been really careful with it so I know I didn't damage it. I am thinking this problem could be because of a recent Fitbit update.

I have been having issues for a week now. It gets the red circle x, then it
charges, then it's fine. Then, I can't sync. That's where I am today.
Cannot sync. I removed it from my app and now I can't connect. Sooooo
frustrating! I'm so mad. I think if I can get it to sync, I can update the
firmware. That may be my issue!!
