Charge 5 colors are fading

The colors on the screen of my Fitbit 5 have faded. I've tried going into display settings and those haven't changed. Watch activation was under 2 yrs ago. Just started having this problem within the past week.

Hi there, @ssptc. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the colors of your Charge 5 screen are fading. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Thanks.  It helped some, but the colors are still " less bright" than they were. But hey...it's working. 😁

@ssptc It may be the beginning of the end.

In April, my mom's Charge 5 started to fade in color as well.  And then image started to glitz.  In May, the screen went black so she's not able to use it but the device still tracked all the data and sync'd with the app.  And finally, last week, the device stopped tracking and saving the data so even when it syncs with app, no data points are retained.  Her device was a replacement within warranty one from 2022 and now about 17 months after the replacement, it's dead.  She's debating whether to get the Charge 6.

I think you may be right. I had received a Fitbit 3 for my B-day around 2020/2021 and had to replace that it in 2023, not under warranty at the time. 😞        So upgraded to the 5 and not thrilled that ir might be dying already. Not sure if I'll upgrade or switch to another brand altogether when it does die.
