Charge 5 - dead, not charging, not able to restart

I have had my Charge 5 for about 4 months.  I took it off while on holiday, but did not turn it off.  The battery must have gone flat on its own over the few days after taking it off. 

 

Today I have tried re-charging it - but even after leaving it plugged in overnight to charge, it is still not turning on at all.  No signs of life at all. 

 

I have tried pushing the button three times to reset, but this does not work either. 

 

Any advice on how to get the device working again?

@ellray , Nice to see you here. Thank you for trying to restart your Charge 5. 

I recommend you to have a look at this if you haven't done so yet. Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
