I had no problems with the Charge 4 using the swim feature. Today I used my new Charge 5 for the first time, swam for a few minutes and noticed the phone had a black screen. No amount of double tapping or anything has fixed it. I tried using the restart button on the USB, but nothing.
What the hell is wrong with this thing?

Just to add another detail, my phone's bluetooth is saying the Charge 5 is not connected, but my Charge 4 is connected.
What a piece of junk!

And to add one more detail, I have the Charge 5 charging and the watch face is quite warm. I never noticed that with the Charge 4.

One final detail: it appears that there is water inside the back of the watch. FINALLY got through to some support person and thankfully it's still under warranty, but what a crock that it fails with one swim.

Bei mir ist es genauso. Leider komme ich bei keiner Hilfestelle durch. Was kann ich machen?

I was able to use the chat feature but I suspect you’re in Europe and the Fitbit support hours are likely quite different.
My wife used hers for the first time today swimming and it worked fine for her, so I likely just got a dud.
Viel gluck!
