Charge 5 died after swimming

I have read all the posts, so I suppose this post is just a confirmation of what is already out there. I have a replacement charge 5 as my old one died after swimming. I wondered if it was just mine that was defective and if the replacement would fare better. Clearly not. So I will purchase a gym tracker just for swimming and add to my Fitbit. Amazingly it records several laps of the pool when I’m ironing… What a disappointment, I feel conned, I’ve bought a Fitbit because it’s supposed to track my swimming progress, and I now find that it untrue. When this one dies on me, I too will shop elsewhere.

To prevent false swim readings from ironing, or from anything else, on phone app from Today page,

Tap gear icon (Settings) at top right > Activity & Wellness > Exercise > Swimming. Switch from auto-recognized to ignored.  Do same for any other exercise type you never do, or don't want to get auto-recognized.

Then you will have to use the Exercise App to get credit for that type of exercise.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you! Actually I find it easier to put it on my left wrist - but don’t always remember, lol 😊
