I'm in the same boat! Went on vacation last week and my fitbit died suddenly. I thought maybe it got wet without the water lock on so put it in rice for two days. The screen is working but the charge doesn't hold for more than 5-6 hours. I used to be able to charge it once/week because I don't use the GPS. I have tried: 1) turning off all Background App refreshes; 2) cleaning both watch and charger with clean, dry wipe; 3) uninstalling all apps I don't use on fitbit, such as ECG, Sp02, EDA Scan, and Find my Phone; 4) checked for updates (there are none available); 5) reset the watch with the three 1-sec button-hold; 6) uninstalled the Fitbit app on my phone and reinstalled; 7) changed the clock face, as I read that sometimes works (?!) I'm at a loss. This is day 6 of not being able to use my watch for an entire day.

When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.

Mine is the same holding a charge maybe 3 days. tried to charge today at 14% dropped to 1% by the time I got it on the charger. checked it after 4 hours and it is completely dead. I have tried multiple usb ports, cleaned the posts and charging dots, tried to restart by holding the button on the charging cord----NOTHING. Before it quit completely it would go from 100% to 65% in 5 hours.
