Charge 5 double tap to home not working

My new Charge 5 double tap to return to Home Screen is not working. This is very annoying as I either have to wait for timeout or have to navigate back through menus. Is the device faulty or is something not setup properly. It has never worked.

Thank you for sharing that you're experiencing this problem with your Charge 5 device. 

Make sure to firmly double-tap to return to the clock screen. If you continue to have any problem to go back to the main screen with a double tap, please make sure that you've also tried the restart procedure as described here below: 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Then check if you continue to experience the same inconvenience.

There is No Button at the end of my USB charging cable for my Fitbit 5 watch.  What can I do???

I have found the button and tried 3 times with the 3 push then wait sequence but the screen still does not respond to double taps.  What should I do?

@SocalSunflower Contact Fitbit support. They will walk you through a series of troubleshooting procedures. If your device doesn't return to normal operation and is still under warranty, they should send you an offer to replace the tracker/pebble or a discount on a different device. Note: the discount is on the full price, even if the device is on sale in the Fitbit store.

@SocalSunflower Thank you for your response and for confirming that you were able to complete the restart. Just for future reference for other users, I will attach an image here below of where the button is located:

I've also been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this and it seems they've shared some instructions with you. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed.

My charging cable does not have a button

Could you please share a picture of the charging cable you're referring to so we can take a look? The button should be on the USB end of the charging cable, as shown in the image here above. Please let me know.
