I need to return my Charge 5 under Warranty but have to factory reset but my fitbit has died and I cannot use it at all - black screen. Can I factory reset using a laptop as this is my only option before sending it to google, I have searched for this info on the internet but all I get is to reset via the fitbit app/device which I cannot do. Any help appreciated.

Hi, @ScarletKeys , you cannot control your Fitbit device in any way through a laptop.
If your Fitbit is completely dead then I do not think you need to worry about doing a factory reset. I would, however, recommend deleting the device from your account. You can do this in the app and the Fitbit does not need to be working to do this. From the opening, Today, screen of the app click on the small icon top left (smartphone and watch). On the next screen click on the picture of the Charge 5, and on the Charge 5 screen click on the trash can top right and confirm that you wish to delete the device from your account. This will mean that the device is no longer associated with your account. All your existing data, which is stored on the Fitbit servers, will be retained. You can then return the device for your warranty claim.
