Fitbit charge 5.
On 5 hour driving trip. Sitting and not doing exercise and I get 3000 steps. Can’t change this anywhere. I have latest iOS apple mobile update and latest (today) Fitbit update. Pretty bad bug I think. Help anyone?

Hello @Bug25
If you tap on the Exercise recorded during that period in the App on your phone, then tap on the white arrow at the top of the page next to Categorize Exercise, then type Driving in the search box, it should change and reduce the steps for you.
I hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for answering Wibby. Unfortunately there the Fitbit charge 5 doesn’t show any exercise for the 3,009 steps I take so I can’t select an exercise. I have looked at options on exercise choice and driving is not there either. I do appreciate your help though. I think the charge 5 needs some bugs fixed. As I travel a lot it’s going to be a problem. I used to have charge 2. Thought updating to 5 would fix it. Hasn’t. Same with husbands Fitbit 5. Cheers from Australia.

Hello again @Bug25
Driving isn’t a Shortcut option but it is an option for Categorizing Exercise later. It’s a bit silly because it would be useful to have as a shortcut.
Another thing you can try is to start an exercise from your Charge 5 when you start your journey and stop it when it finishes and then rename it in the App later.
It’s a bit fiddly, but can help.
Also, for your existing extra steps, if they didn’t show up as exercise, if you can remember the date and the times you can retrospectively add an Exercise. To do that, go into the Exercise section in the App. Tap on the Stopwatch icon, then put Driving in the search box, then you can choose the date, start time and duration and that should fix some of the extra steps.
I hope that works and made some sense.

Thanks so much. I was able to categorise as driving but it didn’t change the steps. At least I have driving as a choice for future. Thanks so much for your help Wibby. Appreciate it. Cheers from Oz.

Just checked and step count has been reduced. Yayyy. You’ve solved my problem. Thanks so much Wibby. 👍👍👍
