Charge 5 has 1 day charge after automatic update at end of September

I was getting 4-5 day per charge until the end of September 2023.  Now I am lucky to make it through the day.  I have to charge it every night to get my sleep data.  What happened?

No response from the customer service, not yet. I am communicating with
then over Twitter and contacting them everyday. Their only response till
now is that there is a huge amount of queries now after the recent App
update and they will need time untill they could reply. It seems their
customer care is overwhelmed with millions of problem reporting after the
latest update and they are simply not in a position to handle it. All this
started after Google took over Fitbit which was an excellent company and
now Google will kill it, but gradually.

@Yellakutu Agree! I feel my Charge 5 problems started after Google took over Fitbit and new app version 4.0 kicked in at the end of Sept 2023. All was great before new app 4.0. Now battery drains several times a day & night. Charge 5 goes black. Any tracking is useless. My Fitbit app now has version 4.01 (40123005). My Charge 5 is still on that 188.58 version. Actually says version 57.20001.188.58. My confidence level is very low that 194 will fix all issues. After reading many posts, I don’t dare contact customer service for fear my Charge 5 will permanently go dead after performing the steps they advise. They’re only the messenger, not their fault. Sad that big fish Google is apathetic with no remorse for the consumer and slowly putting to death smaller fish Fitbit.

Ha since mine did the update it doesn't even make it an hour. I will not be buying a new or getting the charge 6. I am going elsewhere. Since this whole change to Google it's been one thing after another.

Same problem. Since update lost charge and locked in. Unable to change steps and can't charge .

I’m done dealing with Fitbit after 2 failed charge 5 devices that were well cared for on my end. I was offered 50% off for any device in stock and given a promo code that did not work at checkout.
I’m a health care professional who recommends fitness trackers for my patients. Fitbit was a reasonably priced choice but the reliability of the product is miserable. I’m moving on.
