Charge 5 has stopped recording heart rate reliably during cardio workouts

Hi all, I've had my Charge 5 since February and it started off great, but in the last few months it's become pretty useless at tracking my heart rate when I'm working out (usually spin class). I'm not sure if it's because I'm sweating or what, but whenever I'm clearly in the cardio or peak range I'll glance at my watch and it'll either not be able to detect at all or it'll say like, 115 when I can manually tell my heart is beating at 160+. I wear it as tight as I possibly can and have swapped wrists etc but nothing works. It's one of the main reasons I bought it so I'm thinking of giving up on it - has anyone else had this issue?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @nedna!

Sad to hear that you're having an issue tracking heart rate with your Charge 5.
Please try if cleaning the sensors on the back of your device will have a positive impact on that. Here's how to do that:

Also I'd suggest to not wearing your device too tight as mentioned here:

Update the firmware. I did it the other day and it's much more accurate. Sleep tracking is much better now.
