My Fitbit Charge 5 is past its warranty date. It fully charges on the charging station, but often just shuts off when I go to my App. to update. I thought perhaps the battery life was done (after multiple charges over two years plus), but the Fitbit still shows %100 percent charged and ready to go. Also I have just purchased a FitBit Charge6, thinking that my 5 no longer works. Do I have to use the Goggle Account to register my new FitBit6 should I decide to keep it. Could some of my problems be that I did not oppt to switch my FitBit Charge 5 to the Goggle Account and am now not getting good performance?

Hello @Ziggyd
If you decide to keep the Charge 6 as your replacement for the Charge 5, you will likely be asked to use a Google account to set up your new device in the Fitbit app. I have seen a few posts where users were able to use their Fitbit account to set up a new device, but I'm not exactly sure how they were able to do that. For the most part, I've seen where a user isn't able to setup a new device without migrating from a Fitbit account to a Google account.
As for your second question, it's hard to tell if switching to a Google account will resolve the issue with your Charge 5. Unfortunately, there currently isn't a way to try doing the switch to see if it does resolve your issue and switch back to using a Fitbit account if it doesn't. Once you migrate to using a Google account, there's no way to go back to using a Fitbit account.
