Recently, as of just 2 or 3 days ago, I noticed my charge 5 was getting laggy (as in, when I moved around it took a second or two for it to actually move and sometimes froze for half a second or so in between movements) and tried to sync it. It failed to sync, and since then I have restarted the Fitbit numerous times, cleared phone storage to update to iOS 17.5.1, and restarted my phone. Every time it fails to sync. I most recently synced it on July 16th. I’ve had it for exactly a year and 1 day. In the past, when it’s gotten laggy, restarting the Fitbit fixed it the first time. But now, it’s not working… anyone have any ideas?

It’s now fixed. After two days of the issue, it discharged and when I plugged it in it was back to normal. Two issues: now, my streak of 10k steps, which would’ve just hit a year yesterday, is technically gone on the app. However, the day started with it tracking correctly and while the app doesn’t know it, I did walk 10k steps yesterday. The second issue is that the only way of fixing it was letting it run out of battery. I assume it uses battery faster, but all the same, there is no purposeful way to use up its charge, you just have to wait… which means any streak you have would be messed up, and you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

The next time it happens, plug into charger and on the USB portion, you'll see a button. Push in 1 second intervals 3 times and wait. IIMPORTANT! If you do it before midnight you should keep your data. If you lose it, you should be able to tap on each individual stat on ypur dashboard and edit info. After midnight it resets back to 0, and in my case I lost a record days' worth of info and wad unable to manually put it in because it was after midnight when I fixed the issue.

That's good to know... however, just about a week ago, it started dying when it should have had plenty of charge. Last week on Thursday night I charged it and it should have easily had 100% battery in the morning, however between 9 and 11 AM it was already dead... haven't used it since.
