I did a quick 10 min swim with my fitbit charge for the first time. When i got out of the water, the screen was black. I set it aside to dry off and went back to it and it was vibrating, wouldn't stop vibrating for about an hour or so, and wouldn't turn on. I tried syncing it without success. I plugged it in and tried restarting it and it vibrated a bit again but still would not turn on. I left it on the charger for about a half hour, now it's extremely hot. What can I do to fix this? Or is this a faulty charge 5 as it's suppose to be waterproof?

It does sound like it leaked. Beware of the heat, there could develop a runaway battery fire (this is why commercial airliners land after someone spills a cup of coffee on their laptop). There are other reports of their Fitbit leaking and being replaced.

I’ve had two now that have done this. I honestly do not think they are water proof at all. I barely have gotten mine wet, and they both went black.
