Charge 5 is not holding charge

New charge five is not holding charge. I never had this problem with my charge 4 .  Charge 4 would hold charge for 5 or six days.  Charge five is only holding charge for two days. I sync with the app once a day.

I also find the charge five more cumbersome to use. You have to tap hard and multiple times to turn on the water lock feature.  I would prefer a water resistant product which you didn’t have to turn on and off.I would prefer a water resistant product which you didn’t have to turn on and off.
I feel that the charge five is not as user friendly as the charge 4. I am very disappointed in this product.

Hi, @Crkm, welcome to the community, it's a pity you are disappointed with your Charge 5, may I offer a couple of suggestions? Your "Charge 5" battery should last a bit longer than you report, you can reduce the rate of drain by reviewing some of your settings. From the clock face swipe down to and touch "Settings">display settings, set to normal or dim if you can still read it>screen wake to auto.> Screen time out to medium> Always on slider to "off"> Return to the settings menu> Vibrations to normal if you are happy with that>GPS to phone, this is a real juice guzzler (as it was on your Charge 4) you should avoid dynamic or built-in to conserve charge. This article may be of interest How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Remember the GPS will only start if you commence an exercise that uses GPS via the short-cuts on your "Charge 5", if you rely on auto-recognize you do not get GPS (or a map afterwards)

The water lock feature does not make your Charge 5 water-resistant, it disables the screen because when submerged the interaction of water on the screen may result in unexpected changes to the device operation and further deplete the battery SOC. I have occasionally gone swimming & forgotten to set the water lock without any harm. I recommend you practice tapping your Charge 5 screen to engage the water lock, I use the side of my opposite hand thumb, it needs a robust thump, practice will make perfect.

With reference to syncing, your device will sync each time you open the app on your phone in addition to those occasions you manually sync.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
