Charge 5 is not resetting my steps at midnight

My charge 5 won't clear at the end of the day.  It just keeps adding steps.

Hi there, @Marywa. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and bringing this to my attention. I will do my best to help you with this! 

I was wondering if this is the first time your Charge 5 doesn't reset your steps? If so, we are not sure what might have caused this, but we would expect this to be one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your Fitbit device. In case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate.

Please note that there's no way to get rid of those steps either on the Fitbit app or your Fitbit device, you should wait until the next midnight for your data to be cleared.

On a side note, I'd recommend restarting your Charge 5 by following these steps and making sure that it's properly syncing.

Mine is having the same issue and it’s been two days now.  I tried resetting it by your listed directions and searched other questions.  I checked my app and troubleshooting options.  It seems this isn’t a first time issue if you read other people posting in the last week or so.  I suggest you get the Fitbit tech department to look into immediately!!  This is irritating when you pay a lot of money for it.

I am also having the same issue. My Charge 5 has been fine until now and I woke up today to it showing I had 5000 steps, meaning it's continuing from yesterday. It won't sync with the Fitbit app (I'm on Android) and the screen is also buffering/changing slowly when I look thru stats. I tried restarting the device and clearing the cache for the Fitbit app with no change.
