I just got my new fitbit 2 days ago and the first night I was very satisfied with the sleep tracking, however, the second night it wouldn't track my sleep the same way! It didn't record the sleep stages or calculate a sleep score. What changed?? I can't find anything in the settings to fix that.

Hi, @Evey108 , for your first night the Fitbit gave you a “sleep score”. The second night the Fitbit reported only a “simplified sleep” record.
There are a number of reasons why you might get simplified sleep records instead of a sleep score:
- If you slept for only 3 hours or less (not relevant here)
- If you started sleep manually rather than letting the Fitbit detect it automatically
- If your Fitbit battery is very low (less than approx 20%
But the most common reason for this is if your Fitbit is not able consistently to detect your heart rate, most likely because of the position you were sleeping - obviously not something you can do anything about! For best results wear your Fitbit snugly but not overly tightly while you are sleeping.
There is no setting you need to change. Almost everyone gets simplified sleep records now and again. As you have only had yours for a couple of nights I would recommend continuing to sleep with it, ideally keep the battery above 20% (that’s best for overall battery life as well), and always let the Fitbit detect sleep automatically. Hopefully you will get a sleep score most nights!
