Charge 5 is not tracking my sleep stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 stopped giving sleep stages in about May 2023. I have tried everything listed in the many posts about the same problem. Nothing has fixed it. Occasionally it will work for one night then is back off the following night.

I spoke to customer service & was told it should be replaced so I bought a new one. The new one also didn't work. They sent a replacement for the new one which also did not work.

Cannot get any resolution or repair. Can anyone suggest a different tracker that will accurately keep track of sleep patterns, stages, etc. ??

Hi there, @TA3045. Welcome to the Fitbit Communtiy Forums. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

If you're missing just your sleep data, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

As noted, i have tried all of these "recommendations". Nothing fixes the problems. I think the issue is a problem with monitoring heart rate. Must be something going on in the transition between Fitbit & Google.

Having the same problem but it’s been since the 3.86 update in July. I have an iPhone 14 pro & pay for Fitbit premium.  I’ve been a Fitbit owner since 2016 & know all the “tricks” that you are supposed to do when not getting a sleep score. So frustrating & annoying

Fitbit has to know there is a problem, but they don't seem to care enough to fix it or acknowledge the problem. Very frustrating.

It worked well for me for years & then suddenly stopped.  And they offer virtually no assistance (other than the same "tricks" that do not work).
