My sleep recording stops recording if I am up out of bed for ~ 10 min, but does go back to recording if I am up only 2-3 min before getting back into bed to sleep. I spoke to a Fitbit tech rep who said I have to be first be in bed 3 hours continuously for the program to continue recording if I am getting up and going back to bed. My experience is that I have been in bed longer than 3 hours before getting up, but the recording still stops if I get up for roughly 10 min before going back to bed. If I can be up for just 2-3 min to go to the bathroom then go back to bed, the recording continues with no stopping. I usually get up between 2-4 am to go to the bathroom, so am in bed contiguously for more than 3 hours before getting up. Is there a way to get the recording to continue if I am up for more than 10 minutes or so? Or am I stuck with having to race to the bathroom then race back to bed to head off the app not recording?

Hello @KathrynJane
Like you, I've had my Fitbit stop tracking sleep when I've been up for more than 10 minutes, then restart when I go back to bed, resulting in 2 sleep logs. What I've learned to do is to edit my sleep in the Fitbit app to combine the 2 logs into a single log.
If you haven't done this before, here are the steps:
It's been my experience that it can take some time for your sleep log to update in the app, including sleep score & stages - around an hour or so.
It took me a while to accept that deleting a sleep log only removes the time frame and not the tracked data. Unless you delete all your data (factory reset), your Fitbit keeps your data for about 7 days. So, it's no problem to delete a sleep log.
I agree that it's a bit annoying that our Fitbits don't automatically return to tracking our sleep when we've been up for more than a few minutes. But at least we have an easy way to fix it in the morning.

Thanks for your suggestion. The only problem is that I don't get 2 sleep logs. I just get one truncated one. I am also not doing anything to stop recording when I get up so there is not a second log that starts up when I go back to bed. So my situation is different from yours I guess!
Thanks anyway!

Hi @KathrynJane
Thanks for explaining what you see for your sleep log. It's a bit surprising to me that you don't get a second sleep log when you go back to bed.
You might still try editing your sleep log to your actual wake up time to see if it will update with any remaining tracked sleep data.
