My FitBit Charge 5 decided last Wednesday, 19 June 2024 to just shut off randomly. It was charged, no battery issue.
i charged it and now it is stuck on a loop on the logo. It is not responsive the first couple of seconds, then the main screen appears with the clock and all, and then it goes back on the Fitbit logo and so on.
ive tried the suggestions on the forum to restart, sync, unpair, reinstall, update the app, disconnect Bluetooth restart the phone and so on but it’s still on that same loop.
from the many threads I’ve seen on this community it seems that some form of software update caused this for many users but it is not acknowledged by Fitbit.
When should we expect an actual solution??? I just got this a few months ago??? It’s embarrassing

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @XStarfire675.
Thank you for letting me know about this situation in regards to the loop of your Charge 5 screen.
I recommend you to sync your Charge 5 and restart it following these steps, this is the long restart process:
- Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
- Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
After this, change the clock face and let me know how it goes, please.

I've tried all of these things and the logo just keeps coming up. I've disconnected it and reconnected to the Bluetooth. I've done the restart button on the charging cord, I've changed the clock face and I've restarted the device through the watch setting during the short time I can get to the setting. It will not stay synced and it will not stop looping.

Hi there,
I've tried these steps a few times and my device is instantly restarting again. What else can I do?

I have the same problem as well...
and in the app I instantly get "Unable to connect to the Device - Error connecting with the Device. Please make sure your fitbit is nearby and switched on and then please try again."

Can't get mine to work any longer, either. Sometimes the hard reset (pressing button on remote, etc) will get the FB logo to display 3 times briefly, then once a bit longer, then blank screen.
So it looks like a recent update has bricked my FB. Any solutions or is it just junk at this point?

Hi. I let my fitbit completely die (it took a couple of days) and went through the app to the part where you can change the watch face, selected it but didn't load it. I put the fit bit on the charger and when it confirmed charging and the screen said zero percent I loaded the new watch face. I kept it on the charger for 30 minutes. It's been working for an hour now. I hope that helps.

Hi! I've tried this and it's still stuck on the same loop. 😞
