Charge 5 is still not syncing after the new update

This update is horrible!  I am offended my the child-like dashboard. I continually have to manually sync to the app.  That was a problem before the update.  One would have thought this would have either been fixed with the update or prior to the update rolling out.  I will not buy a Google watch.  I suppose I will become an Apple convert.  Fitbit you sold your soul and now you have lost it as well.

Hi there, @DianaE68. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Charge 5.

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend trying the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

Before trying the above, please be aware that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

Where did you find the manual sync? My 5 still won’t sync. I can’t find the “old” manual sync

@Web2507 Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and the details provided in your post.

Please note we removed the option to turn off all-day sync from the Fitbit app to improve your experience with notifications, syncing, and firmware updates. When your phone is near your Fitbit device with Bluetooth turned on, it periodically syncs with the Fitbit app to update your stats and download available firmware updates. More frequent syncing rarely, if ever, noticeably decreases your device’s battery life. To learn more about what factors affect battery life, see Can I extend my Fitbit device’s battery

If you're still having syncing issues, please confirm that you've tried the steps I recommended here

I continue to have to manual update the app after days of it not doing it in its own.
Even more frustrating is this prevents other apps from using the  data from the Fitbit.  I am trying to get healthy this year and am using the WW app but without accurate and TIMELY information the struggle to become more healthy has become that much more difficult.  I log three to four runs per week and nearly 10,000 steps per day.  What was once a reliable piece of equipment has become nearly useless.
