Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Energetic62

Thank you for sharing all this information about what you've been experiencing with your Charge 5.

Since the display is stuck and it won't let you interact with it, let me know if you already tried the three pulse restart method, as this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If possible, you can also try changing the clock face on your device.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

What button...this is a Charge5. There are no buttons!

I find if I am stuck in the exercise at the end of the exercise, I will tap twice somewhere on the screen which starts a new exercise. To end it, 3 buttons  are required. Pause, Finish, and way down at the bottom End. This still leaves me in an exercise screen and if I am lucky, I can tap in the upper right or left screen to get back to the clock. Unfortunately, the GPS is still on and I have to re-enter the exercise to turn it off. Fortunately i can still see the screen while doing this ( compared to a vaguely visible Charge3) BUT, how many times should I have to tap the screen to exit an exercise. Surely some efficiency expert could be consulted with and an alternative method could be implemented...after you communicate the changes to all your loving customers. My suggestion, (I am a controls electrician and electronics technician, is to use the two side EKG monitor sensors to take me home( and turn off the GPS). I expect full compensation for kaizening your equipment since that is what I am paid for.

I am not sure what the reps at FITBIT are paid for.

@Bouchonne Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 5.

The button to complete the restart procedure is located on the charging cable:

Regarding the number of taps required to end a specific exercise, I did notice that currently you have to tap three times, "Pause", "Finish" and  "Done" to end the workout. If you have a more specific idea on how to make this more efficient, I would recommend that you post this idea in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since this section is regularly monitored by the team of developers. Make sure to post your idea including as many details as possible.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and your feedback about the product. Let me know if you continue to experience any problem with the GPS after the restart as well.

I'll be around.
