I don't know if it's when I tried to change my settings a couple of weeks ago ir a bad update but my active zone minutes went from around 125 to over 2200 last week without changing my activity. I don't exercise and work from home and I'm getting AZM just sitting reading or standing in the kitchen. I'm getting constant alerts telling me to keep going earning AZM. Advice? Is this a poorly planned update?

You won't lose your data when you restart your Charge 5. Restarting the device is often the first troubleshooting step to try. If you aren't sure how to restart your Charge 5, this help page has the instructions (<-- click link).
Another thing to check is your profile to make sure that your birth date and other personal information is correct. I've seen users reporting that when they saw high AZM in the app and checked their profile info, somehow their birth year had defaulted to 1900. To check:

I’m having the same problem. First, I started getting the AZM notifications A LOT, even though I had disabled them in Settings. Then I started getting insanely high values (in the thousands) for AZM.

Welcome to the community forums @Dez-411 @KB_WC.
Thank you for sharing the information regarding this difficulty that you are experiencing with you Charge 5. Thank you for trying to fix it on your own.
I recommend that you try restarting the device again using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below, instead of the restart option found on the Charge 5 itself:
Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
In addition, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar.
Besides that n addition, confirm if you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. If that is your case, Mobile track will add the steps recorded by your phone to the Fitbit app. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account. On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".

Will I lose my history in the app if I restart it? I've had it 2yrs and really need to keep the history. I'm jnsure about mobile track but like I said, it's the heartrate because I get AZM alerts saying I'm earning mins while standing still doing my hair in the morning or while scrolling on my phone. This started a couple weeks ago. I have a Samsung Galaxy s25 android phone btw.

Also I've turned off all alerts except for low battery but I'm getting these AZM alerts constantly on the fitbit which prevent me from being able to see the time for a minute, like the other person who responded with this same problem that just started for him too. How can I stop those?

What type of phone do you have and did this start a couple of weeks ago for you too? Are you using the Charge 5 too? Same with the constant notifications here, really annoying because I can't check the time when they're hitting and I've turned them off I think but can't tell if it's in push settings to my fitbit or to the phone.

My birthday WAS wrong! I'd changed it in my Google profile for privacy reasons, didn't know it'd change itself in fitbit too. That'll probably fix it. Thank you!
For the other person with this problem, I had to turn off AZM notifications on the fitbit itself but make sure heartrate is turned on or you can't see your heartrate.

See if your date of birth is right in the fitbit app. Some are getting reset to the year 1900 or something similar and it makes it look like your heartrate is super fast since that goal depends on your age. The comments thread has the details. That's what happened to mine and some other people's.

I finally got rid of the AZM notifications after I set my birthdate in Google, set my daily AZM goal to the highest possible value, and did the three-pulse reboot a couple of times.

Thanks for letting us know that you got everything straighten out.
It still a mystery, though, how a user's birth year got changed when you're pretty sure that you didn't do it. I suspect that when something got updated, the birth year was set to the default "1900".

No mystery. I had never set my birthdate in my Google profile. Had no reason to. The Fitbit app made me switch over to using my Google account but didn’t alert me to the fact that my data in Google didn’t match what I had in Fitbit.

Is there a way to stop the fitbit app from using our birthdate from our Google profiles? That's why so many are switching to 1900, like the other person in this thread who never entered a DOB in google (or in my case 1912 since I'd put a really old year in there for privacy reasons, since Google can't be trusted with information.)
I had the correct birth date in the fitbit app but it pulled it from my Google profile. I'd still like to put a different year in my Google profile if possible.

Hello @Dez-411
As far as I know, there isn't a way to keep the Fitbit app from using your birth date in your Google account.
An option to consider is using a birth date that's close to yours but off by months or days. That would at least keep your age correct.
