Charge 5 isn't counting steps, heart rate and battery drains fine

My charge 5 was working well when I had my morning run.  But sometime in the course of today, the battery drops quickly (went from 100% to now 70% in about 40mins), my steps are being counted and my HR isn't picked up.  I've tried the reboot method (w/ charging cable and going through the settings) and I don't see any improvements.

Firmware 57.20001.188.58 if that helps.  Thank you.

I didn't see an edit.  But I wanted to say that my steps are NOT being counted.

Another edit for additional information.  I have the HR setting on and the watch's GPS setting is set to "Phone".

Thanks again!

Hello @JLofCO

Sorry to see you're having battery drain issues.

When this happened with my Charge 5, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. This process finally got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days.

A couple of users who were experiencing rapid battery drain found that turning off SpO2 helped reduce battery drain. One of the users also turned off/un-installed ECG & EDA which further helped reduce rapid battery drain.

Hopefully, you will have a similar positive experience if you try these tips.

@RiekoC Thank you for your advice.  This morning the screen went black and the watch went unresponsive.  I think I just have a dead watch - which is disappointing.  While I bought the watch 18mo ago, I had it replaced about 9mo due to the original not lasting either.  Feels like charge 5 design just doesn't last long (or I have had bad luck).

My Charge 5 is 6 months old.  It was working perfectly fine until shortly after noon today.  It lost almost the entire charge and quit counting steps.  Recharged once and dropped entire charge in less than 30 minutes.  Not amused or happy either.
