Well, I solved one problem and now have another. My Charge 5 keeps constantly connecting and disconnecting with Bluetooth and it’s very frustrating. Any ideas? I’ve tried all the usual things!!

I turned my Fitbit watch off completely from the settings on my watch and then restarted. This has worked for me so far. We’ll see.
I got a message from Fitbit saying they are working on the issue. It is exactly the same message they were sending out a year ago.
Best of luck. Coquinablue

I was contacted and this is my third Fitbit. The issue with the Charge 5 started within a couple of months and I tried all the suggestions and finally just restarted my device which has worked. That’s about it.

This is what I noticed, too. I have the problem especially (but not exclusively) when hiking in the Alps where cellular network coverage is not so good.

This is interesting. I’ve only had access to cell coverage but this week we are getting Wi-Fi. We live in a rural community. Maybe this will make a difference.

I’m glad Fitbit is working on the Charge 5 problem, but what are we to do in the meantime? This is the first Fitbit I’ve had problems with, and sorry to say it will be my last. Too frustrating and it should never have been on the market until the issue had been solved.

Hello -

I have searched and searched to no avail.....

Can you please advise the status of the Charge 5 dropping Bluetooth connection errors?

What is the fix?

Send it back before they say "Tough" - the model is defective

Agree - i have been user since very early in their existence as a company. Super disappointed - recommend you send back before warranty expires.  At least you will have a shot at one that works

Too late for that.  I have had this Charge 5, it was a pre-order.  The dropped bluetooth connectivity has been

happening for about the last 3 months.

Just been waiting to see when a "fix" would happen.... if ever!!

Received my Chatge 5 about 2 weeks ago and keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth.   I see this has been a problem for over a year now.   Anyone have a fix for this?   Very disappointed!

I just got my Charge 5 a few days ago and I have the same problem.  I've tired to fix it with all the different suggestions but nothing works.  I see this has been going on for over a year now and they still haven't fixed it.  I know it's not my phone's bluetooth cause my Charge 2 connects to it all the time. Pretty disgusting of them to keep on sending out a product that they know doesn't work and they don't seem to want to fix.

Yes, it is really too bad. I liked my Fitbits and have had them since they launched - the blackberry of fitness devices - good launch but did not keep up.

This has been happening for YEARS what more does your team need to gather to know your company is selling defective devices and dysfunctional software and not taking responsibility to fix the problem? I had my Charge 5 replaced within the first year because of this and battery draining issues and a few months after that it has now started up again. It is completely clear that there is no actual intention to support customers and make anything right, it is all vague lip service and horrendously poor support which most often results in people throwing away the good money they spent to purchase something else. After using Fitbit products for a very long time I will never purchase another because Fitbit has shown me how little they value their customers and what a waste of money their products are. I have never seen a company LESS interested in dealing with service issues and the messages here from moderators are just an insulting waste of time, there is nothing of value being provided. It seems after watching this space for a long time that if the basic steps don't solve the problem (which they usually only do temporarily) either you get lucky and get the device replaced hoping the next one is not trash, or you just give up and purchase from another brand. Shame on Fitbit for refusing to be responsible for the problems with their products and making paying customers have to work so hard for little to no help.

I agree. I have had Fitbit's since 2013. Never had this kind of issue. This will be my last. SMH.

Try using the charger to reset your charge 5. Plug phone in On your charger. There is a button in top. Press three times to reset. Wait 10 minutes and your charge 5 should pair. Hope this helps

If Charge 5 is unresponsive:
Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

I was wondering if the update I saw was going to fix anything but I can’t get my device paired long enough to load it.

Everything about the Charge 5 is inaccurate. I'm on my 4th replacement one. Fitbit knows about the issues but have failed to produce a proper product. All of the data is botched 10 to 20bpm during excersise, the ECG is garbage, it is not waterproof, and the battery and or screen will eventually fail. Bluetooth is the top of the iceberg.

Wait for the GPS that disconnects or is inaccurate everytime you track your exercises.

For me Bluetooth connection problems were sorted after I replaced my device, but it's still far from perfect. If the GPS will keep dropping I'm switching to Apple/Garmin.
