I've had my Fitbit Charge 5 for a little over two years now and it was working just fine until about a month or so ago when it started just turning itself off randomly every now and then. I could reboot it by just connecting it to the charging cable, and it would be fine again. But lately it's just gotten worse and worse to where I can't really do anything with it other than wear it for the step counting reliably. Whenever an alarm or a timer triggers, it just dies again. I went to the gym and just turning on the treadmill exercise tracker had the fitbit turn itself off. I understand that it's past it's warranty time, but I'm wondering if there's any way of running diagnostics on the hardware somehow, or install an older firmware or something? It really feels like a software issue.

Sorry I can’t help, but me too, and over the same time frame, with the same triggers making it crash. I’ve tried turning off everything that might make it vibrate (eg make the goals stupendously hard), but find that just getting into ‘active minutes’ makes it crash too.

My Fitbit Charge 5 keeps turning itself off. The only way I can restart is to connect to the charger. Sometimes it turns off when I run the EKG. Google and Fitbit don't seem to care.

I just recently started having the exact issue along with fast battery drain.

Same issue here. Charge 5 just over 2 years old and in past couple of weeks it has started switching itself off, usually when battery is about 50/60% and will only power back on if I connect to charger.
Have tried changing clock face, restarting device but nothing. Even tried to reset it but the 3 button press does nothing
