Charge 5 less than 8 months old - battery draining very fast

Fitbit charge 5 is draining battery far too quickly! It was new at Christmas and now doesn’t even last a day before battery dies - yesterday it was put on charge, showed 100% at 4.30pm, 20% at 6pm and then 7% at 6.15pm! 

What can I do? The Fitbit is my grandfather’s, he uses it mainly for the ECG facility but it is currently worthless. I’m trying to help but have hit a wall!

I have the exact same problem and it started 4 days ago and my fitbit is also from December. I think Fitbit has made a bad update and hope they will fix this ASAP.
