I updated using the system update and since I did the system update my Fitbit will not hold a charge. I charged it up to 77 not 2 hours ago and it's already down to 28. What do I do to fix it? Or is there anyone that can help?

The SAME thing has been happening with me. I charged my fitbit charge 5 to 100%, then not even 2 hours later its at 5%. I don't have anything running in the background and restarting the device doesn't work. So frustrating.
Went to bed with a 92% charge and it's completely dead when I woke up. I only got this back in March & 3 mo. After getting it I've had multiple issues time and time again with it

I have been dealing with the same issue since the software update. I have contacted fitbit numerous times in the past 5 days. They have me recharge and reset my watch from the charging cord seversl tines. This does not fix the problem. My warch dies within an hour of charging,.They told me that they are aware of the battery drain problem and that they are"working" on a solution as quickly as they can. They do not have an eta on that. I have asked about getting a replacement watch and have been told because it is an issue with all charge 5 they won't replace my watch with a new one,in case the new watch has the sane issue. I have asked if they will extend my warranty for the amount of time my watch is not working and they won't commit an answer to that. I'm just told that they are escalating my case to the next level and I will receive an email from someone shortly. I have been waiting 3 days now for that next level of contact. After 5 + years of being a fitbit customer, I think I am moving on. Very disappointed.

Yeah the new software updates has totally ruined the charge 5. My battery lasts only a few hours and constantly vibrates telling me to "add card". How could they send out a software update this messed up? Support is useless.
What alternative product are you guys planning to buy?

I had this same issue and was given the same answers from support. I have also been a long time customer and am very disappointed in FItbit. It’s a week and no email after being escalated. Meanwhile Fitbit is still selling Charge5 everywhere. I don’t understand why they won’t replace mine because of it being faulty and no fix available but yet continue to sell them. Hmmm what does this say about the company I have faithfully supported?

My Charge 5 is having the same problem since updating the firmware. I updated my wife's Charge 5 yesterday and so far it's still holding a charge. We'll see how long that lasts. I can't believe that fitbit released a firmware update that was so poorly tested.

So I called customer support and they had me do a factory reset on my Fitbit and clear all data. So far everything has fixed. I charged my fitbit and it is staying at 97 percent as of noon. So if you guys know how to do that or call customer service they should help fix it.

I tried doing the factory reset and clearing all data as you were recommended to do. In 3 1/2 hours, the battery is down to 49% from fully charged. They have made my Charge 5 unusable. If something isn't released soon to remedy this situation, I will look elsewhere for a new device.

I did a chat session with customer support. They recommended that I turn off GPS. I tried that, charged the Fitbit, and in 6 hours my Fitbit was down to 6% charge. If you read the release notes for this firmware update, it was supposed to help with a battery draining issue. To me and others, it has created a battery draining issue.

I just had another chat session with customer support to tell them that the suggestion didn't work.
"Since I really want to help you with this, I'll have to forward your case to our team and you don't have to worry because they will be contacting you via email on your case number xxxxxxxx to further assist you with this matter."
I said I wished I could revert to the previous version of firmware... no response, lol.

I have updated my device to 171 but luckily no battery issue. Most of the settings are still in default:
gps dynamic
All apps installed, including find my phone.
i even changed the display settings, screen time out to medium.
so i dont think uninstalling anything will help if you have any battery issue.

Same issue. Impossible to track steps and health when there’s no battery. Might as well have stuck with my Apple Watch

I am looking into Garmin or Samsung. If I had an iPhone I would probably consider the Apple watch.

Only had to charge my Charge 5 four times today. One more and it would fit the name - Charge 5 times/day.
