Charge 5 new odd behavior

Hello,

The last 3 days I get to my 9 of 9 hours of 250 steps and the unit dies during the notification. I have to plug it into the charger to bring it back to life. The unit says 9 of 9 hours, but that doesn't register on the app saying 8 of 9 hours. So I do my little walk again to get the 250 steps, but I have to continue another couple of laps before the android app finally gives me the 9 or 9 hours. The first time this happened 3 days ago, the app never gave me step credit. Same thing happened last week on a Tuesday ... same as this week.

Has this happened to anyone else where the Charge 5 dies during notifications? I am afraid to take my 2 mile walk in the morning to hit a cardio level and the Charge would die thus not counting my steps or zone minutes.

Frustrating ...

Hello @SunsetRunner

Your description sounds like your Charge 5 battery might be rapidly losing power. Have you checked to see where your battery level is? Are you seeing a rapid drop in battery power lately? If you are seeing rapid battery drain, here are a few troubleshooting steps to try.

When my Charge 5 battery started rapidly losing power, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. This eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days.

One of the users wrote a detailed post of all the troubleshooting steps they followed, which seemed to help. Here is a link to their post: Possible fix for rapid battery drain

Let us know if this doesn't address the issue you're seeing. We'll do our best to help.
