Used a Fitbit for years but my Charge 5 is now totally useless as only data I enter manually is recorded. No. Sleep / heart rate etc which I really want it for. No response to tapping face and always black screen. Resetting sometimes gets it going for an hour or so. Thoroughly disgusted with Fitbit.

Please try to sync the device in the Fitbit app:
Now, restart the device as indicated here: How do I restart my Fitbit device. Restarting the device will not delete your data.
If restarting doesn't resolve the issue, change your clock face. If you manage to solve the difficulty you can go back to the original clock face.

Doing this everyday is not my idea of a useful device. Totally unacceptable
