My Fitbit Charge 5 has been having all sorts of issues the past couple weeks, but it seems to have finally bit the dust.
The first sign of trouble was when it randomly flashed the Fitbit logo one day when I went to look at it. I discovered that the previous hour of data was never recorded. The battery was also more drained than it ought to have been relative to where it had started that day.
After charging it after that incident, the battery started draining twice as quickly as usual. I regularly got six days of charge comfortably, but I was in the red by the end of the third day.
It seemed to be holding a better charge after again charging it, with 48% remaining after the better part of three days. Still not as good as it should have been, but at least a little better. Unfortunately, during a swim exercise, I went to flick my wrist up to look at it and noticed a blank screen. I finished my lap and took a better look. The screen would not activate and the sensors were not active. After finishing my swim I tried to sync, but it was just as though there was nothing with which to sync.
I'm home now, attempting to charge the unit, but when I first attached it to the charger, it just kept buzzing once a second. It stopped after a while. I tried the button on the USB end of the charger, but that did nothing. It still will not sync.
This unit is a warranty replacement of a Charge 5 originally purchased in 11/22 which died 8/23. As I understand it, the warranty only applies for the remainder of the original warranty, so it would seem I'm SOL? I'm also reading that Google isn't even offering discounts for out of warranty defects?

Several days later, all the thing will do is occasionally light up with the logo flashing if I attach the charger. Resetting via charger button does nothing. Between the original unit and this replacement, neither lasted more than ten months.
Probably going to just get a Garmin this afternoon.
