My Fitbit Charge 5 recently stopped recording any distance traveled and constantly shows 0.00 on my Fitbit. I have turned on and off the automatic stried length, restarted my Fitbit, reinstalled the Fitbit app, but nothing seems to help. It still records my steps and all other data, which leads me to believe that there is something wrong with my Fitbit. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Mine stopped taking distance a week ago. If you find the answer, please share.

Hello @mckinnonrunner , @MarielleGD , @Mark405 , @Markcw98
There's a bug that is affecting distance tracking and the team is aware of the issue.
One user noticed that when they turned off automatic stride & manually set their stride length in the Fitbit app, they saw distance tracking again. Several other users have had success with this workaround. If you would like to try this workaround, this help article has the steps on how to manually set stride length in the Fitbit app (<-- click link)
Hopefully, it won't be too long before the issue is fixed and we don't need to use a workaround.

Hello @Markcw98
If you try the workaround, please let us know if it worked for you. I've seen some users report that it didn't work for them.

Just wanted you to know that I tried the fix and I am now getting mileage readings. I just estimated the number for walking- a running number was already there. I may change later for better accuracy. I guess that the automatic GPS tracking is what needs to be fixed. BTW, I usually use the Strava app on my phone (Garmin watch broke) to track runs but like the backup from the fitbit.
Thanks again for the suggestion.

Just as FYI, chose following stride lengths- will likely change but using for now.
Walk: 24"
Run: 34"

Fitbit made me think I was Superman when my charge 5 said I went over 14000 miles in a day. It continues to post outlandish distances. Problem started after last update. Loyal Fitbit user for 8 years PAYING for premium service and now getting chop liver. Thank you Google
