Charge 5 not charging, stuck at 1% battery life

My fitbit Charge 5 stopped charging a week ago. The screen says 1% battery life when attached to the charger but the number doesn't goes up, the few times it does move up the moment I take it off the charger it goes right back to saying 1%. I tried everything suggested when having a problem charging, different locations, cleaning the pins, resetting the device, nothing has worked. It still responds because it buzzes when I attach the charger and push the reset button on the cord. I hope someone can help me out.

I have the exact same issue. It’s amazing how many people have this problem. Sounds like a defective battery or battery charging circuit. Oddly it seems to happen to everyone around the 1 year mark. I was lucky that it happened at 362 days and the warranty covered the replacement. What’s interesting is that the warranty in the US is 1 year but in the EU it’s 2 years. However this trend is very disturbing. If this replacement also fails then I’m done with Fitbit and switching to something else. Oddly me original Fitbit (pre google) still works but my charge 5 didn’t even last a year (and hung a bunch of time during the year promoting me to force a reboot using the 3 click button reset option). My spouse uses an Apple Watch and she’s never a single issue in 3 years. My child uses a Spacetalk adventurer and I’ve never a single issue with it hanging or croaking despite it being roughed around! What’s with the charge 5? Does google know of something fundamentally wrong and keeping it hidden?

Ive had the same issue. I contacted IT support and they gave me a voucher code to get 50% off any new fitbit… I ordered the charge 6 since ive had this one almost 2 years

Dear Fitbit, I am having a very similar problem. My fitbit was new 5 months ago!

My screen died and was unresponsive, 2 days ago. It has now come back to life, but will not hold it's charge.  I have had similar battery issues with my last three Fitbits. In have been a customer for 6 years, but I am done now and looking for a new brand of fitness tracker.  What would people recommend?  I am thinking Apple???

I have an exact problem. First, the screen was blinking and then it became all white. After that, the screen was not responsive for two days. Then, the screen is back, but now the battery is always 1%. This is my second Fitbit Charge 5 over two years. Both were just out of order after exactly one year which meant I could not have any warranty service. It's so ridiculous. The sad part is that I also work for high-tech and this is the most ridiculous product I have ever seen.

I have the exact same problem and looks like 50 others have had this from what i can read on this thread. Fitbit being a reputed brand should address this concern than just saying like a bot reply, you have expired warranty & go buy a new one at some discounted price. Glad some of you at least got discount tag whereas  in my case holding this from 17 months, the customer support exec is merely saying nothing can be done. Most annoying part is that one can't repair this ! I think its time for fitbit to close their shop & tell customers we cannot make reliable stuff. Disappointed !!

Same problem. I just bought mine and it's stuck at 1%. Obviously it doesn't need cleaning and I've tried several outlets/adapters . Also tried the reset option.

Contacted customer support and all I got was a bot telling me to try things I had already done SMH. Can you please confirm that you've that completed these steps... you asked me that before...  how many times

Yeah I gave up. Bought a Garmin. I don’t love it. The sleep tracking sucks compared to Fitbit but I’m not buying a new Fitbit after this horrible customer service experience. No solution. Same reply over and over. 35% off new Fitbit that’ll just die was not a solution for me.

Same issue.  They offered 50% off a new device, but the Charge 6 was excluded.  Not interested in the other options.
