My charge 5 does not come on or respond to charging

From what I've read on this forum, there are several of us who had/have this issue, especially after updating to the recent firmware. This is what happened to my Charge 5.
I suggest that you contact Fitbit support, preferably via chat. They will have you try several troubleshooting procedures. If they confirm that your device is not fixed using these procedures and your device is still under warranty, they should send you an offer to replace the tracker or a discount on a different device (discount is on the full price, even if the device is on sale). If your warranty is expired, I've seen posts that the user is offered a discount on a replacement.
Since my Charge 5 was only 6 months old, I got a replacement tracker/pebble. I updated the firmware when it arrived last week, in case this unit fails while it's still under warranty. So far, my replacement is working without any issues.
