I swam with my Charge 5 on and now it is not holding a charge. Why is there a swim option for exercising if it will damage the Fitbit?

Welcome to the Community forums, @JulieLM.
I appreciate all the information that you've provided about this issue with your Charge 5.
As you mentioned earlier, you shouldn't experience any problem after using your device for a swimming activity, since the Charge 5 is water resistant up to 50 meters.
There are few general recommendations that are helpful to extend the battery life, but if you started to experience this issue after you used the device to swim, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. They will let you know how to proceed.
