Charge 5 not recording Km and won't hold the charge

Hi

My Fitbit charge 5 has started dying prematurely even when battery is still remaining. Died on 25% the other day, no notifications or email to say battery was low. Fully charged to 100% on previous charge. Has done this now on numerous occasions since Feb/March.

Also has stopped tracking kilometres for last week or so. Tracking steps but no km's.

Hi, @EmmaN2017 , as rechargeable batteries age they become less efficient at holding charge.  Dying very soon after reaching low battery is a sign that your battery has begun to deteriorate.  Moving forward you will extend your Fitbit’s life by avoiding deep discharges.  Charging little and often is ideal - perhaps for 15-20 minutes daily while you are getting ready in the morning, or relaxing with a book or television in the evening.

For your daily distance make sure that you have the distance tile enabled on your Today screen.  From the opening screen of the app click on the pencil icon top right.  Scroll down to make sure Distance is turned on.

Note that the distance tile will show your total distance for the day.  For any individual walk/ run / etc you will not see the distance metric for that activity if you rely on the Fitbit’s “SmartTrack” to detect your activity automatically.  If you want to see the distance on an individual activity (as well as the total distance for your day) then you must track the activity manually using the exercise app on your Charge 5.
