My new charge 5. Is not recording floors

Unlike some others in Charge line, Charge 5 does not track floors.  And it does not have the required hardware altimeter so it could not be added via update.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

That is disappointing. There is a category for floors on the dashboard. That is misleading. How do you know this?

Hello @Jajet

Yes, it is disappointing for many people and there have been many long threads on here starting before the Charge 5 was released, where people expressed their unhappiness about it.  As @JohnnyRow said, it doesn't have the physical equipment to have the function restored.

I wonder if it might make a comeback in the next generation...

The floors will still be on your dashboard if your old Fitbit measured them, but it won't update with the Charge 5.  I removed the tile by pressing Edit at the top left of the App on my phone, then the cross to delete it, then Done and sync.

Truthfully I think I'd reached the top badge, The Satellite one, with 35,000 floors lifetime climb in 2019.  I didn't get a badge after that.

I found that I've kept the habit of many years of using the stairs as much as possible even without them registering on my tracker, so the Fitbit served its function to train me into better habits and now I'm continuing them even without being rewarded for it, which is a bonus for me.
